Getting to zero net emissions

The ACT tri-partisan agreement to reach zero net emissions by 2050 (at the latest) represents a massive step forward. Politically, we are committed to combatting climate change and creating a sustainably fuelled city. But how are we actually going to achieve this ambitious goal?

How do we engage the community to obtain genuine support for the next steps?

We have asked our speakers to address these questions:

  • do you support this policy objective?
  • what does it mean for your sector?
  • what are the benefits for your sector?
  • what are the barriers? who do you need to talk to?
  • what do you need to discuss and deliver this policy outcome to your constituents?

Speakers

Alex White, Secretary, UnionsACT

Robyn Hendry, CEO, Canberra Business Chamber
Susan Helyar, Director, ACT Council of Social Service
Larry O'Loughlin, Executive Director, Conservation Council ACT Region

Then questions from and discussion with the audience.
