Environment Exchange: Waste to energy

Waste-to-energy in Canberra

We are in a climate-changing world where we need to reduce our greenhouse emissions to zero or below. Solar and wind and other technologies are zero-emissions generators and improving storage with batteries or mini-hydro are moving towards providing for all our stationary energy needs. So is there a place for waste to energy? Is it aimed at solving an energy problem or a waste problem? If it’s a waste problem, is it the best answer? What else can we do with waste? Is waste-to-energy increasing or decreasing around the world?

This Environment Exchange asks the hard questions about waste to energy in Canberra. Join us to hear from guest speakers about their views and engage in this topical environmental issue.
