Join us for the third walk in the Walks Program for Walk the Border, ACT - LIGHT. This is part of our series of half day walks, exploring the history and environment of parts of the ACT’s border. The walks revisit sections of last year’s circumnavigation of the ACT by the Conservation Council of the ACT Region. The Conservation Council has the ACT’s voice for the environment for 39 years and represents the environmental interests of more than 45 member groups.

Sign up for the third walk in our Walks Program for Walk the Border, ACT - LIGHT.

Overview of the walk: ACT's most easterly point.

This walk is an excellent example of a blazed tree marking the border. It is an easy out and back walk, which takes you through woodlands with some magnificent views out to Queanbeyan and the southern ranges.

Start time: 9:30am

Duration: 2-3 hours

Getting there and back: Meet at the dirt car park on Brooks Hill Reserve on the right hand side of the highway (if travelling from Canberra) on the ACT/NSW border at 9:30 am. This carpark is at the top of the hill before descending to down to the Bungendore Plains. For safety reasons, it would be best, if travelling along the Kings Hwy from Canberra, to proceed past the carpark and turn around at Carlton Drive at the bottom of the hill and then proceed back up the hill to the carpark which is near the end of the overtaking section of the road.
