Unlock the secrets of Wool and Worm-lizards.

Join us on a walk in Kinlyside Nature Reserve, which is very unique combination of working farm and conservation area. Don’t miss a rare chance to be guided through this closed reserve.

Kinlyside Nature Reserve protects endangered Box-Gum Grassy Woodland, of which there is less than 1% remaining in Australia. This woodland farm is home to threatened species such as the Pink-tailed Worm Lizard and Golden Sun Moth as well as Digger the Kelpie and his flock of 1500 Merino Sheep.

Experience fascinating farming stories against a backdrop of beautiful ancient eucalypt trees and sweeping grasslands.

Can't come or want to find out more about the ecology of Kinlyside? Visit Canberra Nature Map to see a species list and the most recent sitings!

PLEASE NOTE: Kinlyside is not usually open to the public so there are no formal trails. We will be exploring off track and across creek beds and uneven ground. Walkers should wear long pants, sturdy covered shoes and appropriate weather protection. The walk will depart promptly at 10am.
