DESCRIPTION:Take action and make a difference this World Environment Day!\n \nThe Conservation Council ACT Region is calling on our local community to stand with us and raise some much needed funds\, so we can continue our work to protect nature and create a safe climate future.\n \n \nSign up to host your own event\, or simply make a donation.\n \n \nIf you’re up for hosting your own event\, take inspiration from the examples below or come up with your own idea!\n \n \n– Hold a banner painting or letter writing event.\n– Host a dinner party to celebrate World Environment Day.\n– Challenge yourself to walk/run/cycle a particular distance.\n– Host a morning tea at your workplace.\n \n \nThe sky is the limit when it comes to raising funds for CCACT\, and we encourage you to be as creative as you like.\n \n \n*You can hold your event at any time during the months of May and June.\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				Sign Up to Fundraise or Donate

SUMMARY:Bush Buds: Ngununggula/ Bluetts Block Walk
DESCRIPTION:Ngununggula: Pronounced Nun-nun-gull-ah\, meaning “Belonging to here” in Ngunawal. \nJoin us for our Ngununggula/ Bluetts Block Bush Buds walk – the theme of this walk is Woodlands\, and will have the opportunity to learn more about the habitat of the following Bush Buds:  \n\nGang-gang Cockatoo\nPink tailed worm lizard\nRegent honeyeater\nSwift parrot\nSuperb parrot\nScarlet Robin\nHooded Robin\n\nThe area is also provides habitat for many other threatened and rare plants and animals \nThe diverse woodlands of Ngununggula/Bluetts Block urgently need protection as a Nature Reserve.  Learn about this special place\, the plants and animals that call it home and what you can do to help protect it as a nature reserve. \nWhere: Ngununggula/ Bluetts Block  \nWhen: 10am Sunday 2 June 2024 \nWho: Ecologist Rainer Rehwinkel will be leading the walk. Ecologist Rainer is a field naturalist\, ecologist\, birder\, plantsman\, artist\, and conservation activist. Rainer has spent the greater part of his professional career on data-gathering to support best approaches to biodiversity conservation and connectivity. \nBring: Please wear covered shoes\, a hat and sunscreen. Bring morning tea and water.  \nAccessibility: This walk is on a dirt track with some steep and uneven sections. It will be approximately 5km return. It is appropriate for children who are most welcome. It is not recommended for those with limited/ reduced mobility.  \nJoin the Conservation Council on a walk at Ngununggula/ Bluetts Block led by Rainer Rehwinkel.  \nDirections: From John Gorton Drive\, turn into Opperman Ave\, at the roundabout entrance to Stromlo Leisure Centre turn right into Uriarra Road. After about 3km you’ll see a parking area on your right and a gate with “BB”. Park there\, or if the car park is full\, there’s more parking available 30 metres ahead on the left.
