DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a half day outdoors with views to the Western Edge and connecting with the area’s biodiversity and natural resources. Explore the Western Edge from Mt Stromlo to Brown Trig\, guided by Canberra Bushwalking Club. \n• Walk duration: approximately 4 hours \n• Participants should be over the age of 12 \n• This hike require a medium level of fitness. Will be around 10km in length on formed trails. Some ascents and descents involved. Australian Walking Track Grading System Grade 3 \n• Meeting place and time will be communicated to booked participants prior to the event date \nThis event is free but registration is essential. REGISTER HERE \nAbout the campaign  \nThis walk is part of the Save Our Western Edge Campaign. \nCanberra’s Western Edge\, a beautiful patch of critically endangered ecosystems to Canberra’s west\, is up for unsustainable\, unaffordable and dangerous development by the ACT Government. SUMMARY:Western Edge Guided Walk: Cooleman Ridge
DESCRIPTION:Cooleman Ridge Park Care Group will provide a guided tour for visitors to enjoy the views and vegetation of Cooleman Ridge. \nThe walk will be approx 3.5kms and take up to 2 hrs. From Darrell Place we will head west to enjoy the expansive views across the Murrumbidgee plain to the mountain ranges bordering with NSW\, then along the back track past the Old Dam. We will say “hello” to our wombat in his burrow\, and then up a steep short curve to the ridge leading to Cooleman Trig. Here we will admire the views to the north to Black Mountain\, before heading back via our “Panorama Walk” where there are views south to Mt Tennent. \n• Walk duration: up to 2 hours \n• The track is good\, with only one steep part.
