On Saturday we pulled off Canberra’s biggest Nutbush line dance to call on the ACT Government to follow through on their promise to set 🎵 Canberra City Limits 🎵
With 360 people in attendance we broke the previous record by ten people, which means every single person who showed up made the difference!
We began with a Welcome to Country, followed by powerful speeches on why setting Canberra City Limits and thereby protecting our Western Edge from suburban sprawl development is important for First Nations justice, protecting Canberra’s environment, and good urban planning to address the housing crisis. Then, after a practice run-through with our dance leader @ms_virgolicious, it was time for the main event — Canberra’s Biggest Nutbush! 💃🕺
A huge congratulations to everyone who came out to dance our way into the history books for our beautiful Bush Capital 🏞 It was incredible to see Civic Square filled with hundreds of Canberrans coming together for the future of our city 💚
