Environment Exchange: Horses in Kosciuszko National Park

WHERE: Conservation Council ACT Region, Unit 14/26 Barry Drive, Ground Floor of Lena Karmel Lodge

WHEN: 12:00 Noon – 2:00PM Tuesday 19 November 2019

Please join us for a robust and lively discussion on wild horses in Kosciuszko National Park. Enjoy a catered light lunch, hear from three experts present on the topic and join in on a Q&A session.

Wild horses in Kosciusko National Park have a long history of contention. From the creation of a national mythology in The Man from Snowy River and the establishment of them as part of our bush identity in The Silver Brumby novels to being viewed as an invasive species destroying the natural heritage and biodiversity of a national park – it’s clear to see how such a bumpy road was created when travelling forwards on making policy decisions for the best way to manage wild horses in the Australian landscape.

We look forward to seeing you at our Environment Exchange for this important discussion as part of our series of community engagements on standing up and speaking out for our environment.
