Drake Brockman Drive Ramble

April 27 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Come along for a ramble along Drake Brockman Drive at the southern edge of Holt and Higgins. With its direct connection to the Molonglo River Corridor and surrounding nature reserves, this area hosts a variety of plants and wildlife, and is significant for the large number of remnant trees that are located on both sides of the road.
MattM from Naturemapr fame and a couple of people from Higgins Landcare will be available to answer your questions about the local ecology.
We have permission to park in the Molonglo Rural Fire Service car park. Please do not park on the gravel driveway or on the gravel area directly in front of the building, but in the space off to the side.  We need to leave room for the fire trucks to exit in the event of a fire.  Let’s assemble around 2.20pm, for a 2.30pm start.
If you have binoculars, please bring them along. Drake Brockman Drive is 3km long. Actually we will be lucky to get half that far because there is so much to see.
You may not realise that a major road project is about to get underway on Drake Brockman Drive. For those interested, we can chat about that too.
We are supporting this event, which is being organised by Save Our Habitat Trees – Drake Brockman Drive.
