Branching Out: Parliament House garden walk and join in with the Parliament House hosted Indigenous stargazing event

Join Kelly from the Conservation Council for a relaxed walk through the native gardens of Parliament House. After a short break we’ll join an Indigenous Stargazing event hosted by Parliament House.
Led by Indigenous Astronomer and Proud Gamilaraay/Yuwaalaraay man Peter Swanton, in association with the ANU Astronomy Society, we’ll learn about Indigenous astronomy and how First Nations people have used the stars for navigation and cultural practices across a millennium.
Note that If you register here you do not need to also register for the stargazing event as Kelly has registered for tickets already.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Branching Out: Canberra Nature Walks is an initiative aiming to engage the Canberra community, especially people with no, or very little, experience with our nature, and support them to enjoy all the beautiful nature spaces the ACT has on offer. We know that unfamiliar things can feel intimidating — especially when it comes to woodlands, wildlife, and insects — so we would like to support as many people as possible with making that first step. We hope to ignite a love of Canberra’s nature throughout the community and raise awareness of the importance of healthy ecosystems and the rich biodiversity across the ACT.
