Canberra is home to incredible places and wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.
But nature in Canberra and Australia is in trouble. The wildlife and the places we love are under threat like never before.
Right here our precious Canberra Grassland Earless Dragon is under threat due to a proposed road set to destroy its habitat. Canberra Airport Group have all the approvals they need to clear grassland for its new proposed ‘Northern Road’ (which includes and two bus parking areas) between Fairbairn and Majura Roads, in Pialligo.
We are in the midst of a biodiversity crisis, the Environment Minister has included the Canberra Grassland Earless Dragon in her list of 110 species to be prioritised in the fight against species extinctions. This road must be stopped, now, before it is too late for the population that lives at Canberra Airport.
Join Friends of Grasslands and the Conservation Council on the evening of the 1st March to learn about the threat to the Canberra Grassland Earless Dragon from a proposed road through their habitat.
