We’re calling for a fair go for nature: at least 1% of the federal budget invested in protecting the landscapes and wildlife that make this country what it is.
By joining the webinar, you’ll learn what the 1% for Nature campaign is calling for, what’s happening nationally, and how people across the country are working in their local communities to meet with their federal MPs and push for a fair go for nature.
Right now, nature gets just 0.1% of the federal budget.
That’s less than 0.1% of your tax dollars going towards protecting nature in Australia. It’s not nearly enough, and it’s showing: we lead the world in mammal extinctions and 17 of our ecosystems are on the brink of collapse!
Australia has the people, the skills and the science to solve the environmental problems we face – they just need adequate funding.
But unless our elected representatives hear loud and clear from us, it won’t happen.
1% for Nature is part of the broader 30 by 30 Australia campaign — a national alliance of environment organisations working to ensure Australia protects at least 30% of land and sea by 2030.
