Help keep the Western Edge safe from bulldozers

This gentle walk takes us to the top of Brown Hill to view the entire 9800-hectare Western Edge and the Brindabella Ranges beyond. Find out how the ACT government is considering suburban sprawl that could let developers bulldoze these vital working farms and multi-use recreation trails. Then, wander through box-gum grassy woodland to encounter magnificent old yellow box and apple box trees and the bubbling Rocky Creek. Bring your binoculars to watch the wedge-tailed eagles soar above Brown Hill. Out of six pairs of wedge-tailed eagles in the Western Edge, the nests of three pairs have already been displaced by recent suburban sprawl. Learn what new development is proposed, and how we can keep the Western Edge safe for our eagles, kids and grand kids to explore.
After the walk, stay for a cup of tea, a biscuit and a chat with fellow participants about the campaign to save the Western Edge.
